Our programs are designed to create lasting change by educating, protecting, and advocating for youth and young adults.

"I AM" Youth Leadership & Mentoring Program

The “I AM” Leadership & Mentoring Program is a school and community based initiative designed to educate, empower, and support middle school youth through prevention focused mentoring and leadership development. Implemented in partner middle schools and community settings, the program provides a safe, structured space for students to build confidence, character, and essential life skills.

The program integrates financial literacy, career and college awareness, character education, and leadership skills with gender responsive mentoring through “Girl Talk” and “Brother to Brother” sessions. Youth engage in guided discussions on healthy relationships, boundaries, self-esteem, personal hygiene, etiquette, and the real-life consequences of unsafe choices. Participants are encouraged to express concerns, process day to day experiences, and strengthen communication and decision making skills.

Through positive peer and mentor relationships, the program increases self-awareness, promotes responsible choices, and empowers youth to support one another. The “I AM” Leadership & Mentoring Program equips students with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to lead with integrity, recognize risks, and move toward a safe, healthy, and successful future.

Selected youth may be trained as peer educators to support awareness and prevention efforts within their schools and communities. Referrals and linkages to supportive services are provided as needed to address health, wellness, and risk reduction.

Trainings are open to the public and commonly serve parents, educators, youth-serving professionals, coaches, faith leaders, and community organizations. Continuing education credits may be available for select professional fields.
