"Restructuring Lives of Youth Through Knowledge & Empowerment"
Delivered Vessels, Inc. (DVI) is a 501 c3 tax exempt nonprofit whose mission is to prevent sexual abuse and exploitation of children, to provide a safe welcoming and supportive haven for young sexually abused youth confronted with the multiple challenges in our communities. To empower & promote healthy relationships, educational development, prevention, family values, financial responsibilities, wellness and spirituality. To encourage youth who are being exploited to “Please Tell.”
Delivered Vessels (DVI) was founded on March 17, 2001 in Powder Springs, Georgia by Chandra P A Southern who had a personal experience of her own. Since that time she has come in contact with many youth that have been victimized sexually; by a family member, a family friend, a stranger or a child that is or has been forced into a life of sexual exploitation. A true calling and sincere passion moved Southern to render a strong, safe and effective service to restructure the lives of today’s youth.
Childhood sexual abuse and exploitation is a growing epidemic among our children, it does not discriminate, it effects youth of all ages (1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys), all ethnic and economic backgrounds commonly between the ages of 10-15 not excluding those 16-18.
Through our partnerships in the community we offer ongoing workshops and activities that educates and strengthen the entire family. Delivered Vessels, Inc.’s goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote strong interpersonal/life skills, reassert a sense of hope, and empower them to be independent individuals, on a positive path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
DVI started as an outreach to those young girls affected by the vicious cycle of Child Sexual Abuse, and forced into prostitution in the Metro Atlanta community. Today, it has grown into a movement that has evoked change in the lives of all youth, girls and boys across multiple states.
As we reflect over the years of service we have provided to the community and the commitment of our phenomenal staff, volunteers and you – our friends and supporters- we will remain steadfast to our mission and we will continue to increase the number of youth being empowered. We will ensure our organizational infrastructure enables programming and services such as: Reducing Vulnerabilities in Youth, Stewards of Children Child Sexual Abuse Training, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children prevention training, Youth Empowerment Forums and develop other prevention education programs across the US.
This year our goal is to expand and implement our Camp "I AM" Youth Leadership Academy to two local middle schools, which is an extension of our previous DVI:"I AM" Girl Talk/”Brother to Brother” Mentoring Programs, our Camp "I AM" Afterschool/Summer Enrichment Program and our Annual Holiday Giveaway.
As we move forward, your continued support helps us “Restructure Lives of Youth Through Knowledge & Empowerment”. We sincerely acknowledge that we could not have made such an impact nor would any of this be possible without you.
We ask you to encourage others to join our movement by making a contribution. On behalf of our fellow Board Members, a heartfelt Thank you for your support.
